Assisted Protocol

3rd-level Arcanist feature

You've learned how to create a magical drone call a Assisted Protocol. Using tinker’s tools or smith’s tools, you can take an action to magically create a Small or Tiny assisted protocol in an unoccupied space on a horizontal surface within 5 feet of you. A Small assisted protocol occupies its space, and a Tiny one can be held in one hand.

Once you create an assisted protocol, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest. You can have only one assisted protocol at a time and can’t create one while your assisted protocol is present.

The assisted protocol is a magical object. Regardless of size, the assisted protocol has an AC of 18 and a number of hit points equal to five times your artificer level. It is immune to poison damage and psychic damage. If it is forced to make an ability check or a saving throw, your assisted protocol has a dexterity score of 12, treat all other ability scores as 10 (+0). If the mending spell is cast on it, it regains 2d6 hit points. It disappears if it is reduced to 0 hit points.

When you create the assisted protocol, you determine its appearance and whether it has legs. You also decide which Attachment it has, choosing from the options on the assisted protocol table. On each of your turns, you can take a bonus action to cause the assisted protocol to activate if you are within 200 feet of it. As part of the same bonus action, you can direct the assisted protocol to fly up to 15 feet to an unoccupied space.

Attachments

Attachment effect

Scouting Protocol

Your assisted protocol deploys with a fly speed of 80 ft. and dark-vision out to 120 ft. As a bonus action you can perceive what your assisted protocol sees while it is within 200 feet of you. You are blinded to your own senses while perceiving through the drone, and you can stop perceiving through it without using an action.

Defibrillator

When your assisted protocol has this attachment, you can use your bonus action to stabilise a creature within 5 feet of it.

Cloaking Device

As a bonus action, you can activate the cloaking device making your assisted protocol take the hide action, while using the cloaking device your metal bird has a +5 to stealth.

Encoded Weapon

3rd-level Arcanist feature

You have learned how to encode a spell onto a weapon. During a long rest you can use one of your infusions to encode a spell onto a weapon. To do so the weapon must be non magical and the spell must be a spell that makes a ranged attack roll and be of a level you have spell slots for, the spell can however be put onto the weapon by a willing creature other than yourself. When a spell is encoded onto a weapon the spell can not be upcasted.

Once a spell is put onto a weapon it can be used as a bonus action a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier, or until your next long rest in which the spell fades. When a spell is cast from the weapon it uses the intelligence modifier of the creature using the weapon regardless off who put the spell in.

Arcane Ordinance

3rd-level Arcanist feature

During a long rest you can create a number of objects containing a spell equal to your Intelligence modifier. The spell must be an AoE spell (The spell does not need to deal damage), if the spell requires a saving throw it uses your spell save DC.

The objects can be placed or thrown and will release the contained spell once the conditions of the object type are met. You can make 3 different types of objects as seen below

Ordinance Types

Ordinance type Spell release conditions

Fuse type

Once thrown or placed this Ordinance Type will release the contained spell at the start of your next turn.

Impact Type

Once thrown this Ordinance type will release the contained spell upon impact with any object or creature.

Proximity type

Once thrown or placed this Ordinance Type will release the contained spell once any non-friendly creature comes within 5 feet of it.

Enhanced Protocol

5th-level Arcanist feature

You have learned how to enhance your Assisted Protocol. Your assisted protocol now has a Dexterity Score of 14 and you can now make your assisted protocol as a medium or large size.

Additionally you can now have 2 attachments instead of 1 and you gain the new attachment types listed below.

Attachments

 Taser Dart

Your Assisted Protocol can fire a lightning infused dart. as a bonus action make a ranged attack roll (using the drones ability modifier), on a hit the target takes 1d4 lightning damage and must make a constitution saving thrown against your spell save DC, on a failed save the target is stunned for 1 minute. The target can remake the save at the end of their turn and is no longer stunned if they succeed.

Ordinance Launcher

Your Assisted Protocol can launch an Arcane Ordinance that you give it. As a bonus action your Assisted Protocol can launch the ordinance up to 30 feet within range. This attachment can only hold one 1 ordinance at a time. It is an action to reload this attachment.

Complex Encoding

9th-level Arcanist feature

You have learnt how to encode more complexity onto weapons. Starting at 9th level you can now encode spells onto to magical weapons.

Additionally encoded spells can now be upcasted and you can now encode spells that do not require a ranged spell attack roll as long as they are a line or cone spell.

This ordinance type can only be placed when doing so you must ready the ordinance to be triggered when you activate the connected device as a Bonus action.

Additionally, when creating any ordinance you can increase the spells radius by up to 10 feet.
