
Prerequisite: Dexterity of 13 or higher
You’ve developed the skills necessary to utilize a whip to its full potential. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain proficiency in whips.
- The whip damage die becomes 1d6.
- You can use your action to try to grapple a creature within attack range using your whip. To do so, make an attack roll, If you succeed the creature can then attempt a dexterity or strength saving throw to ignore the effect, you and the creature are both restrained until the grapple ends. Creatures which are a larger size than you get advantage on their saving throws.
- You can use your action to try to disarm a creature within attack range using your whip. To do so, make an attack roll, If you succeed the creature can then attempt a strength saving throw to ignore the effect.
- You can use your action to try to trip a creature within attack range using your whip. To do so, make an attack roll, If you succeed the creature can then attempt a dexterity saving throw to ignore the effect, the creature is knocked prone on a failure. Creatures which are larger size than you get advantage on their saving throws.
- You can use your whip to enhance your ability checks, you may make an Acrobatics or Athletics check utilizing the whip to swing across a large gap or catch yourself while falling, etc. Using your whip in this way provides a +2 bonus to the ability check at the discretion of the DM.
