Prerequisite: Requires a Strength score of 15 or higher
You've become expertly trained in a variety of larger weapons and have better learned how to properly wield them in combat.
- Your Strength score increases by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
- Whenever you make a one-handed weapon attack, and the weapon used has the Versatile property, you deal damage as though you attacked with two hands.
- The first time that you hit a target with a two-handed weapon attack on your turn, the target is forced to make a Strength saving throw versus a DC of 8 + your strength modifier + half your proficiency bonus, rounded down. If it fails the save it is knocked prone.

Posted Apr 24, 2019Having gone through a few homebrew feats and giving feedback and suggestions on them, I decided to publish some feats inspired by some of the lower rated ones and the suggestions I gave on how to improve them. This feat was inspired by a feat named Two Handed Dual Wielding by Agentmain6 that was quite poorly received. The original feat essentially made all two handed weapons considered versatile, and made using those weapons with one hand do damage that was one dice lower (1d12 turns into 1d10, etc). It required 19 strength as a prerequisite along with the Dual Wielder feat itself.
Essentially what I did is use that as a template to make a much less restrictive feat that does something similar without opening the door to extreme wonkiness (Dual wielding lances being the prime example) by only focusing on improving the damage dealt by solely Versatile weapons. Pairing this feat with Dual Wielder would have the same effect as the feat this is based upon, and comes with an added bonus so that there is a point to actually use a Versatile weapon two-handed. Damage wise it is simply a +1 boost to the weighted average damage per attack if you decide to use a versatile weapon with a shield, spell component pouch, or spell focus. Numbers wise it seems like it could still use a slight boost, but it would have to be a careful adjustment as to not unbalance low level combat encounters where this feat mechanically is already quite strong considering how well it pairs with the dueling fighting style. The only downside versus the other feat, is that Versatile weapons are not heavy weapons, which means that it does not pair with Great Weapon Master.
