You have learned the art of Blood Magic. When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you may create and immediately expend a spell slot by spending a number of Hit Dice. This spell slot is a level equal to the number of Hit Dice spent (max 9th level). You may not create a spell slot higher than your current number of Hit Dice. When you cast a spell using Hit Dice, you may choose to substitute the spell's components to perform only somatic components.
When you spend the Hit Dice, roll them. Take necrotic damage equal to the number rolled. This damage cannot be reduced or prevented in any way. Your Hit Point maximum decreases by the damage taken this way until you take a Short or Long Rest.
