You are an expert at using whips in combat, allowing you to disarm or restrain your opponents while keeping them at bay. You gain the following benefits:

• While you are wielding a whip, it gains the light property for you, and other creatures provoke an opportunity attack from you when they enter your reach.
• When you take the shove action with a whip, you can pull the target up to 5 feet towards you or cause it to drop one object it is wearing or carrying, instead of pushing it. If the object is at least one size smaller than you, you can move the object up to 5 feet as part of the same action.
• You can take the grapple action with a whip, instead of using a free hand. While a target is grappled this way, it's speed isn't reduced to 0, but it can't move out of your reach, and you can't attack with the whip. All other rules for grappling still apply.
• When you use a whip to grapple or shove a creature, you can make an attack roll, instead of a Strength (Athletics) check.
