Prerequisite: Rogue
This feat is optionally selected for free when you gain your first Rogue level. It represents a background in combat training with a Rogue-like fighting style, without the implication of criminality. It is intended for Swashbucklers and Scouts more so than Thieves and Assassins.
- You do not know Thieves' Cant.
- You do not gain proficiency with Thieves' tools.
- You choose three, not four, of the Rogue's available skill proficiencies.
- You gain proficiency with Shields, Scimitars, Whips, and all Martial Ranged weapons.
You have the following equipment options:
- (a) a rapier, (b) a shortsword, or (c) a scimitar
- (a) a longbow and quiver of 20 arrows, (b) a shortsword, or (c) a scimitar
- (a) a dungeoneer’s pack, (b) explorer’s pack, (d) diplomat's pack, or (c) an entertainer's pack
- Studded Leather armor, a dagger, and a shield (such as a buckler or light targe)
