This feat is granted to a select few who are born with the inherent magics of the Storm Giants and their affinity to the storm, and who have learned to control the energies of the Storm Crystals that power the Storm Giant city of Tempestar.
Upon reaching 8th level, a storm sorcerer who has bonded with a Storm Crystal can learn to alter their body into an amorphous state consisting of coalesced air. The sorcerer must spend an action in focused concentration to effect the transformation. Once active, the sorcerer has the following benefits:
- Their gain a flying speed up to 300'.
- In this form, the sorcerer can travel underwater, without need to breathe, at half their flying speed (150').
- They gain resistance to nonmagical slashing/piercing/bludgeoning damage.
- They gain advantage on Str/Dex/Con- based saving throws.
- They can pass through small holes, narrow openings, and even mere cracks.
- The target can't fall and remains hovering in the air even when stunned or otherwise incapacitated.
The sorcerer can cast spells while in this form, but to do so requires a DC 15 Charisma ability check. In addition, no spells that require a material (GP) cost as part of the spell can be cast while in this form.
This form can be used a number of times per short rest equal to the sorcerer's proficiency bonus. The ability theoretically has an unlimited duration, however, if the sorcerer uses it continually for more than 30 minutes, the sorcerer must pass a DC10 charisma ability check or remain in this form permanently. For each additional 10 minutes in this form, the DC increases by 5.
