A dragon hatchling has chosen you as its companion and rider, forging a powerful connection that cannot be broken without great sacrifice. Upon your palm a crest is branded, the mark of your bond, granting you the following benefits:
- Increase one ability score of your choice by 1, to a maximum of 20. Additionally, this raises the cap of the chosen ability score to 22.
- You can telepathically communicate with the dragon when you are within 50 feet of each other. As you and the dragon grow in power, this distance doubles to 100 feet, 200 ft, and so on.
- Upon reaching the second tier of progression with your dragon, you gain the ability to draw upon the vast reserves of your dragon's energy to bolster your own. As a bonus action, you can call upon this reservoir to take an additional turn immediately after this one. As a result of this, the dragon becomes incapacitated until the end of its next turn. Once you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you and the dragon finish a long rest.
