Prerequisite: 15 Constitution Score Medium or Heavy Armor, Shields

Your body has become tested from years of combat training in the front lines of battle, allowing you to make use of unique stances to mitigate damage that is sent upon you. You gain the following abilities:

  • Your Constitution Score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You can Dodge as a Bonus Action.
  • When prone, you no longer have attacks at advantage upon you.

On your turn, when you choose to take Dodge as a full action instead of a bonus action, you can instead declare it to be a Turtle Stance. During Turtle Stance, you do not impose disadvantage on attacks trying to hit you or advantage to avoid them, but instead prepare your body to soak up the damage that comes at you. When an enemy successfully attacks you with any source of damage, you reduce the damage you take to your Constitution modifier. You can do this a number of times per round equal to your Proficiency Bonus, where the effect ends upon the final hit you take. This ability deduces damage of all sources except for Psychic damage.

To perform this ability, you must be wearing a Medium or Heavy Armor and be wielding any form of shield to use this. This ability ends early if you move more than half your speed in a round, if you fall under the Incapacitated, Restrained, Paralyzed, Stunned, and Unconscious condition, or use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity.
