Prerequisite: Dragonborn Race, or Dragon-related Subclass.
The blood of ancient dragons quickens in your veins. Your frame has developed the bodily features of a dragon, enhancing your reflexes, scales, and claws to make you an apex predator. You gain the following benefits:
- Increase your Strength, Constitution, or Dexterity score by 1 to a maximum of 20.
- Your scales harden into a scaled bulwark. While you aren’t wearing armor, you can calculate your AC as 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit. If you are using an alternate method of AC calculation, such as from the Monk or Barbarian Class Features, the Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer Subclass, or from the Mage Armor Abjuration Spell, you may instead opt to increase your AC calculated by that method by 1.
- You grow retractable claws from the tips of your fingers. Extending or retracting them requires no action. The claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the normal bludgeoning damage for an unarmed strike. You may choose to treat your claws as having the Finesse and/or Light Weapon Qualities. If you already deal 1d6 or more damage with your unarmed attacks due to another feat or class feature, you may chose when you use an unarmed strike to make that damage slashing and add +1 to the rolled damage.
- As a Bonus Action, you may initiate a Grapple against an opponent you have just struck with a claw attack.
