Volundr (Divine Weapon Forge) Image

Spend one short rest to bond with a Valkyrie and gain a divine treasure pact. The player will make a d8 roll and receive the corresponding volund. If the roll lands on 8 the player must reroll. To change divine treasure the player must use one short rest and suffer a cost which is at the discretion of the DM. The player will make a d8 roll. Is the roll lands on 8 or the number of their previous volund then the player must reroll. When successfully changed the prior divine treasure cannot be regained until another change has occurred. Below are listed the divine treasures. 

1. Sky Piercer (Heavy, Reach, Two-Handed)

1d10 slashing damage

Gains an additional 1d6 when used against enemies wearing armour

Sky Eater (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The user performs a downward crushing swing at a single target. The target and player will both roll a strength value. If target's strength value is lower than or equal to the player then the target takes 1d12 slashing damage. From that the attack will send a shockwave in a forwards direction for 36 ft and a width of 4 ft. All units in that area (inclusive of other players) must succeed on a dexterity saving throw or take 1d8 bludgeoning damage.

2. Knuckleduster (Light) 

1d8 bludgeoning damage

Eyes of the lord (can only be used a maximum of three times per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): Using the power of divine reflection, the user will perform a melee attack using the divine treasure. The damage dealt will be the 1d8 roll of the player + the maximum damage done in the last turn cycle. For every use of this technique the user will take increased damage: 1st use is 3 hit points, 2nd use is 6 hit points and visual disadvantage and final use is 9 hit points and hearing disadvantage. 

3. Monohoshizao (Heavy, Two-Handed)

2d6 slashing damage

Senju Muso: Increases all saving throws by +2

Tsubame Gaeshi (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The user performs a downward sword swing. The target must succeed a dexterity saving throw or take 1d10 slashing damage. If the target succeeds the dexterity saving throw and dodges, the player can use up their bonus action to immediately make another attack on the target dealing 1d10 slashing damage

Torakiri (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The user performs a sideways sword swing. The target must succeed on an intelligence saving throw or take 1d12 slashing damage

Re-Volund: When the player's health drops to 10 or lower they can use one action to reforge Monohoshizao into two new weapons

Reforged Monohoshizao #1 (Versatile (1d10))

1d8 slashing damage

Reforged Monohoshizao #2 (Finesse, Light)

1d6 slashing damage

Manju Muso: Increases all saving throws by +3

Sōen Zanko Banjin Ryōran (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The user performs a sword slash with Reforged Monohoshizao #1. The target must succeed a dexterity saving throw or take 1d8 slashing damage. Then as a bonus action the user makes a sword slash with Reforged Monohoshizao #2. The target must succeed a dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 slashing damage. If both attacks are successful the total damage of the two combined attacks is doubled. 

4. Gloves of unearthly empowerment (light armour)

11 AC+ dex modifier 

Illusion of the divine treasure (each type of elemental damage can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The user can empower any melee, thrown or projectile with any element. The next attack performed with the empowered weapon will deal the weapon damage and then an additional 1d10 damage of the corresponding elemental type.

Blessing of Rondo (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The player can gain an extra action, an additional 10ft movement speed and the player does not provoke opportunity attacks for the turn cycle. As a cost the player will lose their bonus action of this turn and the following turn cycle (can be changed by the DM)

Dear God (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): If the player succeeds in performing an attack with a melee, thrown or projectile, the player can use their bonus action to deal an additional 2d8 damage. The player will lose hit points equal to half the total damage dealt by the bonus action. 

5. Mawashi of flesh and bone (light armour) 

12 AC + dex modifier 

Limiter Removal (can only be used a maximum of three times per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): When performing an attack the player can choose to add a 1d8 roll to either their damage roll or d20 roll or a 1d4 to both. For every use of this technique the user will take increased damage: 1st use is 3 hit points, 2nd use is 6 hit points and strength disadvantage and final use is 9 hit points and dexterity disadvantage.

Wild Boar (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): If the player succeeds in performing an attack with a melee weapon, the player can use their bonus action to deal an additional 1d8 bludgeoning damage and cause the target to be restrained. If the target succeeds a strength saving throw the restrained condition is not applied. 

Yatagarasu (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The user will perform a melee attack and add an additional 2d6 bludgeoning damage. The target can make a strength or constitution saving throw and if they succeed then the target takes half the bludgeoning damage. If the player rolls a total of 10 or higher for the bludgeoning damage, the target is also stunned for a turn. 

6. Great Nirvana Sword Zero (light, versatile (1d12))

1d10 slashing damage

Shogaku Arayashiki: When an enemy attacks both the enemy and the player must roll a d20. If the player rolls higher than the enemy, the enemy attack is cancelled and the player gains an immediate attack of opportunity. If the two rolls are equal the attack is cancelled. If the enemy rolls higher than the player, the attack will also deal blinded. 

Mahapari Nirvana (can only be used three times per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The user performs a single downward slash which bypasses AC (regardless of targets ac the attack is successful). The strike will deal 2d6 slashing damage and the player will roll d8 dice, applying the effect of the corresponding number. 

  1. Deal an additional 1d8 force damage to the target 
  2. The target must succeed a charisma saving throw or be charmed
  3. Send a 5 feet wide wave of acid bullets forward 15 feet. All units in that area (inclusive of players) must succeed a dexterity saving throw or take 2d4 acid damage
  4. +2 AC of all players in an 18 ft radius (lasts for the duration of the battle)
  5. Imbue the weapon with a powerful vampiric effect. The next successful attack heals the player by half the hit points dealt.
  6. Deals an additional 1d6 piercing damage to the target
  7. Each creature in a 9ft cube must succeed a strength saving throw or take 1d10 fire damage. 
  8. Player rerolls

7. Almighty Spaulders (Medium Armour)

15 AC + Dex Modifier 

Shiyu Kaishiki - Shoriki Tenho (can only be used twice per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): When the incoming damage is less than or equal to the player's AC the attack is nullified. Then as a bonus action the player will reflect half the total damage of the previous attack back at the target. 

Shiyu Mushiki - Taizan Ryuso (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): If the player succeeds with their attack, as a bonus action the player can do 2d6 piercing damage. 

Shiyu Doshiki - Haryuki (can only be used three times per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): If the player is being targeted with an attack or magic missile, as a reaction the player can make a constitution saving throw. If the player is successful the damage is cut in half. Then if the player succeeds a dexterity throw, the attack misses. 

Shiyu Gekishiki - Byakko Kogetsu (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): If the player succeeds with their attack as a bonus action the player can do 3d4 slashing damage

Re-Volund: When the player's health drops to 10 or lower they can use one action to reforge Almighty spaulders into a sword. If the player is already using a melee weapon, it takes on the properties as listed below.

Shiyu Kenshiki - Shiko Enzan (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): The player performs a single downward slash. If the player rolls both a 20 on their attack and damage roll, the attack will deal an additional 1d10 damage. 

Shiyu Kenkaishiki - Shiko Shoriki Enzan (can only be used once per battle encounter or at the DM's discretion): If an attack against the player is successful the player will absorb damage equal to their AC. If any damage is left unabsorbed the player can make a constitution saving throw. If the player is successful the damage is cut in half. Then if the player succeeds a dexterity throw, the remainder of the damage is nullified. On the players next attack, the total damage absorbed by this ability will be added onto their next damage roll. 

Greatest Curse in All of History: If any damage is dealt while this volund in any of it's forms is being used, the player will take 1/4 of the damage dealt (or at the DM's discretion).
