Prerequisite: Requires wearing a finely crafter buckler.
A finely crafted buckler is a very small parrying shield that provides +1 AC
When you have gained this feat and are using a finely crafted buckler, you gain 2d4 superiority dice and martial training that lets you perform 2 special martial maneuvers using the buckler, on which you spend 1 superiority dice per 1 use of maneuver. You can regain your superiority dice with a short or long rest. Your training with the buckler also provides a +1 bonus to each of these maneuvers:
- Parry: When another creature damages you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction and expend one superiority die to reduce the damage by the number you roll on a superiority die + your Dexterity modifier +1 from using a buckler.
- Riposte: When a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction and expend one superiority die to make a melee weapon attack against the creature. If you hit with +1 from using a buckler, you add a superiority die to that attack's damage roll.
