As the result of your bond with your dragon companion, you gain the ability to assume a dragonlike form.
As an action, you may merge with your drake companion. You gain all of the statistics of a Red Dragon Wyrmling for 10 minutes, except for its HP, which is equal to your base HP + your drake companion's HP. Your race is also considered dragon for the duration. All of your armor and gear is absorbed into your new form and their affects are nullified. You may only take the actions found within the Red Dragon Wyrmling's statblock.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to half of your proficiency bonus, rounded up. When used below level 5, you gain 2 levels of exhaustion after exiting dragon form. Between levels 5 and 9, you gain 1 level of exhaustion. From level 9 onwards, there is no exhaustion penalty for using this form.
Throughout the campaign, your DM may reward you with new abilities or perks in your dragon form. These may include:
- Being able to use your base racial traits or feats in dragon form
- Gaining new resistances or advantages
- Increasing in size
- Or potentially gaining the statblock of a Young Red Dragon
