Prerequisite: Requires access to a spell that restores hit points.

Prerequisite: Access to at least one spell that restores hit points to a creature.

Your extensive understanding and practice of healing magic has allowed you to augment your healing spells in combat, using the life force of the creature to amplify the spell's effect. While in combat, when you cast a healing spell of first level or higher on a creature that at least one hit point, you can make a Wisdom (medicine) check against a DC.

The DC is equal to (Note: _?_  25 - proficiency bonus - level of spell cast? so e.g 5th level cleric casting 2nd level cure wounds would have to hit a dc 20? too harsh maybe? _ at higher levels: 8th lvl cleric, 4th lvl cure wounds, DC 18, 8d8+spell mod hp _ 12th lvl, 6th lvl cure wounds, DC 15, 12d8 +spell mod hp. _ Maybe not harsh enough? Esp for high level spells? perhaps it should just be 25-spell level, but then I am trying to encourage high level spells and resources to be used. Perhaps it should be linked to the last damage that the target creature took? or to how much health theyre missing? but that complicates it a lot _?_).

If the DC is reached, you may expend a use of this ability to augment the healing spell with one of the following effects:

Empowered healing: the number of dice rolled to determine the total hit points restored are doubled.

Twinned healing: once the amount of hit points restored have been calculated, you may cause that amount of hit points to also be restored to a second creature. You must still follow all the requirements of the original spell, for example the second creature must be within range of the original spell.

A spell or class ability that restores a set amount of hit points, such as the spell Goodberry or the Lay on Hands Paladin class feature, is unaffected by this ability. If the creature targeted by the spell is unconscious or has 0hp, this ability has no effect. Class features such as Second Wind are unaffected by this ability.

You may use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain expended all expended uses after a long rest.
