- You gain the ability to cast this spell as a reaction whenever a creature within the range of the spell: fails an ability check, attack roll, or all of the targets of their attack/spell/ability succeed against the saving throw (I.E. fireball, dragon breath weapon, hypnotic pattern, fear aura). If the attack or ability rolls to hit and then as part of the attack requires a creature to roll to save, only missing with the attack prompts the reaction (a snake bites and deals piecing damage, the creature saves against the poison damage and condition).
