You have developed an intimate knowledge of your weapon and its specific properties which allows you greater mastery in combat. When you take this feat choose a specific weapon in your possession, while wielding this weapon in combat you gain a +1 to attack rolls and +2 to damage. In addition you gain a number of weapon points equal to (half?) your proficiency modifier. As a reaction you can expend one or more of these points to gain one of the following benefits.
- You can expend one or more weapon point to add a number of d6 equal to the number of points expended. Each time you use this feature you may choose the damage type but it must be of a type done by the weapon attack. When you use this feature your attack ignore resistance to the damage type(s) of your weapon and treats immunity as resistance.
- As a reaction when you are hit by an attacker that you can see, you can expend one or more weapon points to subtract an equivalent number d6 + your weapon modifier from the damage taken. This feature can only be used with a melee weapon.
- Attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on your attacks if you are boned with a ranged weapon.
- When you miss with an attack roll you can expend a weapon point to choose to deal half damage instead. Damage done in this way ignores resistance.
You regain 1 weapon point when you finish a short rest and all points when you finish a long rest. If you lose the weapon you lose this benefit, and can change the attuned weapon whenever you gain a Feat or ASI.
