You gain advantage against spells of magical effects that would influence your conscious choices or memories specifically in regards to the fate of Toril, unless you actively choose to have the effect work. Charm and other effects still work as normal if the influence is not connected to decisions and emotions about Toril. (This will involve a case by case basis, you can shorthand it in D&D Beyond to “advantage vs charm and enchantment effects”, and describe the limitation in the description)
