The Tribal Dragonmark manifests as a the head of a silver dragon and can manifest as a mixed dragonmark (in addition to other dragonmarks obtained before or after). This rare dragonmark is usually manifested as part of the Freedom Trial ceremonies designed to manifest these marks. Freedom Trial ceremonies are held solely on the Tribal Islands which exists somewhere between Eberron and the fringes of the realm of dreams. It's location is noted on maps, but it appears to be cloaked and protected by powerful magic. Some say that anyone drawn to participate in such trials were destined to do so by the Dragon Prophecy. Others say that the Tribal Islands themselves lure individuals there. Inhabitants of the Tribal Islands tend to believe that the progenitor (dragon) wyrm Syberus sent the largest of dragon shards down to Eberron to serve as a life force giving a living intelligence to the islands. About 50% of those who successfully complete the Freedom Trials manifest the Tribal Dragonmark. According to legends, an extremely rare amount of those who go on to perform greater deeds report that the Tribal Dragonmark continues to grow when it's bearer risks their life in an act of heroism.
This dragonmark bestows an extra level on the character that bypasses multi-class requirements (i.e. ability scores). The level bestowed is related to the most recent training the character received just prior to participating in the Freedom Trials. The level's hit points are equal to 1+ con modifier + any other modifiers. No hit die are rolled. All other benefits of the new level are gained that would be gained upon gaining a multi-class level in the gained class/level. If this feat results in gaining a new class, the new class can be leveled up in the future.
Possible progressions as the Tribal Dragonmark progresses in size (per DM discretion):
- Constitution score increase + dragonmark intuition die increases by one size when applicable (Greater Tribal Dragonmark)
- Increase level of new class by 1 (hp=1+ con mod + other mods) + dragonmark intuition die size increase when applicable (Superior Tribal Dragonmark)
