Umber Hulk Power Image
Prerequisite: Requires 8th level
 

You have developed traits similar to that of an umber hulk, granting you the following benefits:

Ability Score Improvement. Increase your Strength or Constitution by 1, to a maximum of 20.

Umber Hulk Form. As a bonus action, you can transform, which lasts for 1 minute. When you transform, you gain a steel-hard exoskeleton, mandibles, and a gaze that scrambles minds. Any equipment you are wearing merges with your new form. While you are transformed you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain an AC of 18.
  • You gain a base burrowing speed of 20 feet. You can also burrow through solid rock at half of your burrowing speed, leaving a tunnel in your wake that is about 3 feet wide and 6 feet tall.
  • You gain darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
  • You gain tremorsense out to a range of 60 feet.
  • When a creature starts its turn within 30 feet of you and is able to see your eyes, you can magically force it to make a DC 13 Charisma saving throw, unless you are incapacitated.

    On a failed saving throw, the creature can’t take reactions until the start of its next turn and rolls a d8 to determine what it does during that turn. On a 1 to 4, the creature does nothing. On a 5 or 6, the creature takes no action but uses all its movement to move in a random direction. On a 7 or 8, the creature makes one melee attack against a random creature, or it does nothing if no creature is within reach.

    Unless surprised, a creature can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. If the creature does so, it can’t see you until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again. If the creature looks at you in the meantime, it must immediately make the save.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
