You have developed traits similar to those possessed by a ghost, granting you the following benefits:
Ability Score Improvement. Increase your Dexterity or Charisma by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Ethereal Sight. You can see 60 feet into the Ethereal Plane when you are on the Material Plane, and vice versa.
Etherealness. As an action, you can enter the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, or vice versa. You are visible on the Material Plane while you are in the Border Ethereal, and vice versa, yet you can’t affect or be affected by anything on the other plane. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Possession. As an action, you can choose one humanoid you can see within 5 feet of you, and it must succeed on a Charisma saving throw (DC 8 + your Charisma modifier), or be possessed by you; you then disappear, and the target is incapacitated and loses control of its body. You now control the body but don’t deprive the target of awareness. You can’t be targeted by any attack, spell, or other effect, and you retain your alignment, personality, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. You also retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies. You otherwise use the possessed target’s statistics, but don’t gain access to the target’s knowledge, class features, or proficiencies.
The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If the target succeeds on five of these saves, the possession ends. If the target fails three of these saves, the possession lasts until the body drops to 0 hit points, you end it as a bonus action, or you are forced out by an effect like the dispel evil and good spell. When the possession ends, you reappear in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the body.
If you successfully possess a creature for at least 1 minute, you can’t use this feature again for 2d6 days. If you successfully possess a creature for less than 1 minute, you can’t use this feature again for 1d6 + 1 days. Otherwise, you can use it again after you finish a long rest.
