Touch of Undeath

An accident, tragedy, or magical escapade gone wrong has left you in a state somewhere between the boundaries of life and death and the boundaries of human and monster. Due to your cursed existence you have become intimately familiar with death and necrotic magics. You gain Resistance to Necrotic Damage. You also gain the Speak with the Dead spell and may cast it at will without using material components.

Unfortunately, your closeness to death has left you estranged from life. When you are the target of a spell that restores Hit Points, if the spell specifies that it does not function on Undead creatures, than you only regain half of the the total Hit Points that the spell grants you, rounded down.
