Prerequisite: Proficiency with a melee weapon
Your training and combat experience has granted you further versatility in the use of your melee weapons. You have learned to alter your attacks to make them more powerful, at the risk of accuracy, or more accurate at the risk of safety. Before you make an attack with a melee weapon with which you are proficient, you may choose one of the following options:
- Power Strike: You put your weight into the attack, sacrificing accuracy for power. Take a penalty to the attack roll equal to your proficiency bonus. On a hit, you gain a bonus to the damage roll equal to your proficiency bonus.
- Compromising Attack: You strike with accuracy by sacrificing your own defenses. Take a bonus to the attack roll equal to your proficiency bonus. Hit or miss, you take a penalty to your AC equal to your proficiency bonus until the start of your next turn.
