You have made contact with the bound souls of Barovia. Once heroes and commoners alike, their souls have been trapped in the valley. Unlike a traditional ghost, they are not bound by duty or unfinished business. They are merely a prisoner of the strange magics of the land, unable to be reborn and unable to cross the shrouded mists that envelope this place. Few can see them, and it is said that those who can may have ancestral connections with the undead. They look to you now as their last hope of escaping the purgatory they have been trapped within. Through your new found bond, you have been granted these supernatural abilities:
Phantom Sight. You can see 60 ft into the Ethereal Plane when you are on the Material Plane, and vice versa.
Ghost Step. Ethereal mist envelopes you and pulls you through space. Once per short rest you may cast Misty Step at 2nd level.
Spirit Form. While within the walls of the mists of Barovia, as an action you can invoke the spectral energy of your soul. While in this form, ghostly blue whisps flit about your person and your eyes shine with ethereal light. You gain the following benefits which last for 1 minute or until dismissed (no action required).
- You have resistance to necrotic damage.
- Your weapon attacks deal an extra 1d6 necrotic damage.
- You are under the effects of the Blink spell. You may end this effect without ending your spirit form.
Once you use this feature, you may not do so again until you finish a long rest.
