Shield others from damage. Requires a shield.
When an attack occurs against you and your allies, you can place yourself in the way to protect another.
When The attack or effect requires a dexterity saving through, If you succeed, you can use your reaction to voluntarily fail it for another creature. Here are the following effects depending on the attack option and saving through results:
If a success results in half damage: 1) you and your ally both succeed. You take the full damage, they take zero. 2) If they fail, you still take full damage, but they take half, with your interceding acting as if they had saved. *On a natural 20 dexterity save, your ally is protected the same, but you can reduce your own damage by 1D8 + your armor class. If both you and your ally make a natural 20 dexterity save then you can choose to aid an additional creature to protect for half damage if they failed their dexterity save or a quarter if they succeeded, in addition to the reduction of damage you own natural 20 gave you.
If a Success results in no damage: Your ally fails, you can choose either to take the full damage, or each take half. *On a natural 20 dexterity save, your ally is protected the same, but you can either choose reduce your own damage by 1D8 + your armor class or shield an additional creature.
The attack must be coming from one direction. You can use the reaction for those adjacent to you and anyone behind you (this can be anyone who could reasonably be blocked by you, no matter how far from you they are in the range of the attack).*If the creature is unconscious and you make your save, they take no damage and you take full. In this instance, however, you must be directly adjacent to the creature as you are using your full body to protect them.
