Prerequisite: Proficiency with Painter's Tools or Artist's Tools

You have honed your artistic talents and can use them to create masterful works of art. You gain the following benefits:

  1. Masterful Technique: You gain proficiency in the Performance skill, as you can captivate audiences with your artistic creations.
  2. Artistic Insight: As an action, you can take 15 minutes to inspect any object or person and be able to draw or sketch their appearance on paper using any medium.
  3. Artistic Versatility: You gain advantage on ability checks that involve using your artistic talents, such as creating art forgeries, identifying artistic styles, or appraising the value of artwork.
  4. Artistic Flair: You can use your painter's or artist's tools as a spellcasting focus for any spells that you have that require material components. Additionally, when you cast a spell that creates an illusion, you can make the illusion appear as a work of art, enhancing its believability and making it more convincing to those who view it.
  5. Deceptive Creations: Using your artistic talents and a Forgery Kit, you can create objects to manipulate and deceive others, provided you have suitable components. You must choose a piece of art to forge and then make three rolls with a DC based on the quality of the forgery.

When creating a forged object, you must choose a piece of art you want to forge by rolling a performance skill.  The level of quality of the fake item is determined by the initial performance roll.  The forged pieces will begin to break down, revealing itself to be a forgery. Any saving throw or skill check made against a fake you create has a DC of 12 + your Proficiency bonus.

The following fake objects can be created:

  • DC 9 - Fool's Coins: You create 1d10 fake gold coins that are perceived to hold value but are actually valueless. On each subsequent successful roll, you create an additional 1d10 gold coins.
  • DC 13 - Gag Supplies: You create 1d4 gag supplies, such as a Gag Pen, Gag Ink, Gag Paper, or Gag Box. These supplies have humorous effects when used but are otherwise harmless. On each subsequent successful roll, you create an additional gag supply.
  • DC 17 - Fool's Gem: You create a fake gem that is perceived to be worth 1d10 × 10 gold pieces but is actually valueless. The color or cut of the gem does not change its perceived value. On each subsequent successful roll, the perceived value of the gem is decreased by an additional 1d10 × 10 gold pieces.
  • DC 25 - Fool's Art: You create a fake art piece, such as a painting, urn, statuette, or another valuable art piece. The piece has a perceived value of 1d10 × 100 gold pieces but is actually valueless. On each subsequent successful roll, the perceived value of the crafted masterpiece is decreased by an additional 1d10 × 100 gold pieces.

Note: The DM has the final say on what constitutes a work of art and its effects. This feat is intended to enhance creativity and roleplay opportunities, rather than providing mechanical advantages in combat or other game mechanics.  The DM has final discretion on the effects and consequences of the fake objects created, depending on the situation and context of the game.
