You are adept at using whips effectively.
- You gain expertise with whips. Add double your proficiency bonus to your attack roll for whip weapon attacks.
- When attacking with a whip or casting the thorn whip cantrip, you can choose to deduct -5 to your attack roll to gain one of the following benefits:
- Aim for the neck. As a bonus action, you can attempt to pull on the whip. The target throws a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dex or Str modifier). On a success, nothing happens. On a fail, the target takes an extra 1d4 bludgeoning damage, and can't move away from you until it succeeds a strength saving throw on the start of each of its turns.
- Aim for either hand. As a bonus action, you can attempt to disarm your target of their weapon if it does not have the heavy property. The target throws a Strength saving throw against your previously mentioned DC. If it succeeds, nothing happens. If it fails, you disarm them of their weapon. Roll a d4. For each point of the die you roll, you add 5 ft of distance from the target to their disarmed weapon.
- Aim for the legs. As a bonus action, you can attempt to sweep your target off its feet. The target throws a dexterity saving throw against your previously mentioned DC. If it succeeds, nothing happens. If it fails, it falls prone. This feature can only be used against creatures of your size or smaller. A target has disadvantage on the throw if it stands on difficult terrain.
