
You gain the following benefits:
- While you are wielding a whip other creatures provoke an opportunity attack from you when they enter the reach you have with that weapon.
- Damage dice are increased from a d4 to a d6 and for you the whip has the finesse, reach and light traits.
- Once per turn, while wielding a whip, when you hit with an attack you can choose for the target to make a strength or dexterity save (players choice) versus your DC (8 + STR or DEX modifier(players choice) + proficiency bonus). On a failure, the next attack against this target has advantage. You can attempt to disarm creatures a number of times equal to your level, recharging on a short rest.
- As a bonus action on your turn, within your whip reach, you can make an attack against an unheld object or willing creature if either is classified as small or smaller, and if the attack would hit an AC of 10 you can move the object 10 feet closer to you. A medium sized object can be moved 5 feet closer. This attack does no damage.
- You can swing or climb substituting the reach of your whip for the same amount of your movement to bypass movement penalties, when using the whip to assist, if the terrain is suitable.
