Prerequisite: Dexterity 13 or higher.
You may not take this feat if you have the Duelist Fighting Style option, and may not choose the Duelist Fighting Style option after taking this feat.
When you are wielding a finesse melee weapon that are proficient with in one hand and have your other hand free, you gain the following benefits:
- You gain a +1 bonus to AC.
- You add +2 to damage rolls with that weapon.

Do you think the "availability" of this feat should be expanded by removing either, or both of, the requirements of finesse or weapon proficiency?
As I've imagined the feat flavor-wise the AC bonus comes from being more agile/dexterous during combat, both from the weapon being smooth to handle and from you being comfortable enough using the weapon to focus on parrying and dodging.
The feat arose from wanting the Dueling Fighting Style for a Swashbuckler, but I felt that just the Fighting Style wasn't enough for a feat. My thought was to either add the +1 AC bonus from the Dual Wielder feat or a +1 to Dexterity.
Do you feel like the two benefits of this feat are properly balanced compared to other officially published feats?
