You have trained your strength in order to use weapons designed for larger creatures.
You gain the ability to wield weapons intended for creatures of one size category higher than your own. For example, a size Medium creature can wield a weapon intended for a size Large creature. If you are size Small, you instead gain the ability to wield weapons with the heavy property. Additionally, you gain the ability to wield a two handed weapon in one hand. If the weapon has the heavy property, you treat it as if it does not. If a weapon has the versatile property, you can use either damage die for the attack. Any weapon that lacks the heavy or versatile property is treated as having the light property.
If your strength score is less than 18, you suffer a -5 penalty to attack rolls made with a weapon intended for a creature one size category larger than you, or with weapons with the heavy property if you are size small. If your strength score is over 18, you may wield the weapon as normal
Large size weapons increase the size of their damage die by one stage. A weapon that deals 1d8 damage instead deals 1d12. A weapon that deals 1d12 instead deals 2d8. The only exceptions are Greatswords, Mauls, and any other weapon that rolls two dice for damage instead of one, which instead gain one additional damage die.
Acquiring a large size weapon can be done in one of two ways. You can pay to have one created, which has a cost equal to double the weapon's base price, in order to pay for the extra materials and labor creating such an object would require. The other option is to loot one from a previous wielder.
Large size magic weapons can occasionally be found, but will more often than not need to be custom ordered. In addition to the normal cost of the item, you must also pay the full price for the large size weapon. For example, a Large +1 Greatsword would cost 2200 gold.
