You have awakened a primal connection to the animal world within yourself, in a way only commonly possessed by druids. At will, you are now able to transform into a beast that in some way, maybe even unknown to you, reflect your personality. You gain the following characteristics:
- As a bonus action, you can now zoomorph into an animal. The animal is determined the first time you use this feat, by rolling at the included table.
- When you zoomorph, you adopt the physical stats and action options of your randomly determined animal.
- Unlike a druid's wild shape, you are not assuming a new form; just presenting your true self in another. As a consequence, your hit points are the same throughout wild shapes. If you drop to 0 hit points while in your animal form, you fall unconscious in the animal form.
- You are unable to communicate (unless telepatically) while in your animal form. Certain forms might allow you to communicate in writing, such as any primate, at your DM's discretion.
- There is no restriction on how long you can stay in your animal form, or how often you can switch between forms.
- Switching back to humanoid form requires more time, as equipment are magically recreated. As such, switching back requires an action.
Any distinct characteristic in your humanoid form might spill over to your animal form, such as certain scars, tattoos, eye/hair color or missing limbs. At your own and your DM's discretion, reskinning of animals are permitted, such as changing the rolled Riding Horse to an in-game Zebra.
Balance suggestion: Level restriction
Your current strenght will be a factor in determining your animal form. If you roll an animal with a CR of more than 1/4 of your current level, consider rerolling. Consult with your DM wether to implement this optional rule.
Variant: story-driven choice:
You may skip the table entirely and let your DM choose the animal that reflects your character the best, or even chose the animal in collaboration with your DM.
