Prerequisite: Ability to cast at least one spell
You have honed your magical abilities to a greater extent, gaining the following benefits:
- Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
- You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you are already proficient, you gain expertise in the Arcana skill instead.
- You learn one additional spell of your choice from any class's spell list. The spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
- Whenever you cast a spell that deals damage, you can add your proficiency bonus to the damage roll once per turn.
- You can use your action to analyze a magical effect or item within 30 feet of you. Make an Arcana check with a DC determined by the DM. On a successful check, you learn the properties and function of the effect or item, including any requirements for activation or use.
This feat is designed to enhance a character's spellcasting abilities and deepen their understanding of magic. It provides a boost to their spell damage, expands their spell repertoire, and grants them expertise in Arcana for improved magical knowledge. Additionally, the ability to analyze magical effects or items allows for clever problem-solving and exploration within the game.
