You gain a close affinity with the elements, and you can temporarily capture their lingering magical essence. You gain the following benefits:

  • You learn to speak, read, and write Primordial.
  • As a bonus action, you capture the essence of a spell or magic effect 20ft of you that's been using during the current or past turn. The essence lingers where it was initially impacted and must be elemental damage (acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, lightning, or thunder). In doing so, the next time you hit with an attack roll before the start of your next turn, your attack does an extra 1d8 from the damage type you captured.
  • You choose an elemental damage type to gain resistance to and learn a cantrip associated with it. (acid: acid splash, cold: frostbite, fire: firebolt, lightning: lighting lure, poison: poison spray, and thunder: thunderclap).

Daily at dawn, you can change your connection with your chosen element and pick a new one from the options above. Thus, you lose the resistance to the former damage type and the cantrip associated with it.

If you're not a spellcaster when you take this feat, choose which mental stat will be your SAM for those cantrips. This doesn't change.
