Weapon Expertise
You have spent your lifetime around weaponry and trained with them so extensively that you have unlocked all of their secrets.
- Gain Proficiency with simple and martial weapons.
- Choose one ability score , you gain the following benefits:
Increase the chosen ability score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Using the ability score you chose to increase with this feat, you are granted a combat bonus listed below associated with that ability score's improvement. If you do not meet the prerequisite for that chosen ability score by increasing it with this feat, you can pick it up later once you meet the requirements, but only if you have taken this feat. If your ability score ever drops below the prerequisite ability score, you lose that bonus until you later regain it.
You may select this feat multiple times but must choose a new ability score each time and cannot choose the same ability score more than once.
- Prerequisite: Str 15 - Your training regimen is rigorous and your attack training is relentless, allowing you to really sink those heavy hits in.
Gain +1 bonus to Damage with weapons that have the Heavy or Two-Handed Property. This bonus increases to +2 with a Strength score of 18, and to +3 with a Strength score of 20. If you score a critical hit, you may double your Strength modifier and add it to the total.
- Prerequisite: Dex 15 - You habitually engage in stances, maneuvers, forms, and katas, preferring elegant engagements and swift movements around the battlefield.
Gain +1 bonus to Attack Rolls with Light, Thrown, and Finesse Weapons. This bonus increases to +2 with a Dexterity score of 18, and to +3 with a Dexterity score of 20. If you score a critical hit, you may double your Dexterity modifier and add it to the total.
- Prerequisite: Con 16 - You have trained with your weapon and shield so frequently you are practically immune to their encumbrance, often known to travel with them regardless of your destination. Sword and Board, Bed and Board, what's the difference anymore?
Gain a +2 to AC while wielding a Versatile weapon in one hand and a Shield in the other. This bonus becomes a +3 to AC if you are not wearing armor. Weapons with the Versatile property use their two-handed damage dice to determine damage even if you are using the Versatile weapon with one hand, but only if you are still wielding a shield.
- Prerequisite: Wis 15 - Your martial studies and knack for picking up subtle clues give you greater insight to your enemies and their strategies. This gives you a slight edge against enemies looking to get the drop on you.
Creatures cannot gain advantage by flanking you as long as you are not incapacitated. Gain a +1 bonus to passive Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Insight) checks. This bonus Increases to +2 with a Wisdom score of 18, and to +3 with a Wisdom score of 20.
- Prerequisite: Int 16 - You hit the books as often as you hit your enemies, and sometimes you hit your enemies with books. Your lust for battle is only rivaled by your insatiable thirst for knowledge on how best to defeat them. Hitting things with knowledge really does hurt.
You gain advantage on attack rolls against creatures that have been hit with a spell of 3rd level or higher by someone other than you. This bonus applies to the creature targeted by the spell, but not other creatures in the spell's effect range that were affected by the spell used that round. At Intelligence score 20 this effect occurs with spells of 2nd level or higher.
- Prerequisite: Char 15 - Your trainers have seen your ability to transition from one style to another, and they have taught you the finer points so you may do so effortlessly. You shift between blades and spells, and some often wonder what it would be like to fight so voraciously.
Choose a Fighting Style. As normal you may not choose a Fighting Style option more than once, even if you later get to choose again. At Charisma score 18 you can use Disengage as a bonus action, and Charisma score 20 you can use your reaction to cast the Vicious Mockery cantrip against an opponent that is targeting someone other than you that is within range.

Thank you,

This is perhaps one of the most balanced (but still versatile) homebrew feats I've seen. Well done!
Thank you very much! I'm always up for suggestions on improvements that could be made to its functionality, so if you've anything to add please feel free to message me. Glad you enjoy!
My only suggestions would be to allow players to use two-handed weapons with one hand for the CON subsection, and have the INT bonus also apply to any spell cast by anyone, but give bonus damage instead of inspiration. Once again, this is extremely versatile. Literally anyone can use this and become rather decent. This makes Resilient look (even more) terrible. Thanks for the reply.

I am unable to take this feat more than once despite the description. Any workaround for this?
At the moment, no. I don't believe, at the time of creation, the Feat was allowed to be taken more than once because of site limitations and also I may not have released it with that format properly, which is why I placed the text to allow it to be taken more than once. I will consider this for the updated version!
