The Cursebound Desolation is an awe-inspiring transformation that envelops the user in ethereal flames of darkness, invoking a sinister aura that strikes fear into the hearts of all who behold it. This formidable metamorphosis can be summoned at will, yet it exacts a price whenever the devastating Shadow Drain ability is unleashed.

When activating Cursebound Desolation, the user becomes cloaked in ethereal flames, emanating a foreboding aura. This transformation lasts for a duration determined by the game mechanics.

Cantrip Empowerment: While under the influence of Cursebound Desolation, any cantrips cast by the user deal double damage. This effect applies to all relevant cantrips, regardless of their original damage type.

Necrotic Spell Enhancement: Spells cast by the user while in the Cursebound Desolation form gain additional power. Any spell that deals damage now inflicts one extra die of necrotic damage. This bonus applies to all relevant spells and is added to the damage roll separately.

Shadow Drain: As an action, the user can extend their shadowy hand to drain the life force from a creature within 30 feet. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 6d10 + your spellcasting ability modifier necrotic damage. Additionally, you regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt. On a successful save, the target takes half damage, and you gain no hit points. Using Shadow Drain costs the user 3d8 necrotic damage, which is subtracted from their current hit points.
