Alternative Casting - Animal Image
Prerequisite: The ability to cast at least one spell

Some races do not have the manual dexterity to cast spells as others do.  Awakened animals and similar races may be limited on the spells they are capable of casting due to lacking opposable thumbs.  However they may learn to cast by the flex of a claw, a sweep of their tail, or  a movement of their whiskers.

  • You have advantage on any combat roll for your first cast in a combat, if your opponent has not witnessed you casting before.  This may occur again in larger battles if you encounter an enemy who couldn't have seen you cast before.
  • You can perform the somatic components of spells without the need of hands and instead will use another part of your body to complete the movement.  The DM will have final say on whether your method of casting is feasible.

Note:  This feat is not meant for a druid's wildshape.  The feat takes the idea that the character practices nearly exclusively in this alternative method of casting and spends most or all of their time in an animal form.
