Prerequisite: Requires Artificer level 19. You must also have the Innovator subclass.
Your connection to your Masterwork is innate and unbreakable.
- While you are alive, your Masterwork cannot be permanently damaged or destroyed unless you choose to disassemble or destroy it.
- If it is not attuned to any creature, you can attune to your Masterwork as an action while in contact with it.
- You can use magical base items instead of non-magical ones in the creation of your Masterworks. If you use a magical item as a base item, the resultant Masterwork retains all properties of the original item in addition to any properties of the Masterwork's type. (For example, if you use a +1 armour set to create Reflective Armour, it will provide a +2 to AC as well as its other Masterwork effects). You may modify these carried-over effects using Masterwork modifications, rather than regular magic item modifications.
- If you’re reduced to 0 hit points but not killed out-right, you can use your reaction to destroy your Masterwork, causing you to take no damage and regain all of your hit points. If your Masterwork is destroyed in this way, the materials used to create it are not refunded.
This feat is designed for the Artificer's Innovator subclass, and has no effect with characters that do not have this subclass.
