[This feat is heavily inspired by Brendan Blaber’s “Epithet Erased” series. I am not affiliated with him and take no credit for his ideas.]

You were born with an Epithet, a unique word that is tied to your soul and allows you to perform various wondrous acts.

  • You have an inherent knowledge of language. Your intelligence score increases by 1, up to a maximum of 20.

Generate 3 random words and pick 1 of them. This is your Epithet. Work with your DM to come up with a power set of 3 abilities related to or based around your Epithet. These abilities can deal damage, heal, summon creatures, inflict status effects, and nearly anything else. Players are encouraged to get creative with their ideas. The only limitation is the abilities’ effects can be reasonably traced back to your Epithet’s definition(s). The starting abilities must have a stamina cost of 1.

  • Your Stamina is equal to (Level + Proficiency Bonus + CON modifier). You must expend Stamina points to use your Epithet’s abilities. 1 cost abilities have similar power to 1st level spells, while 5 cost abilities are comparable to 5th level spells. Stamina points refresh every short rest.

When you level up, work with your DM to make one of your abilities ability more powerful while increasing the stamina cost by +1 (up to a maximum of 5), or to create a new ability to add to your arsenal. The new ability must have a stamina cost of 1. (May be increased in later levels via the aforementioned.)
