Lycanthropy Curse
A humanoid becomes a lycanthrope via birth, bite, or other means, only removable by a Wish spell, or specific magical rituals or items.
Upon acquiring the curse, you gain a Curse DC (starting at 10) that fluctuates:
- Increases by 1 when willingly transforming.
- Increases by 2 when unwillingly transforming.
- Decreases by 2 when resisting an unwilling transformation.
- Cannot go below 8 or above 20.
- At DC 20, alignment changes to Chaotic Evil, and DM takes control.
Unwilling transformations require a Wisdom save against your Curse DC. They are triggered when at half HP or lower, during long rests, when rolling a natural 1 on a D20, or in high-stress situations (DM's discretion).
Physical Traits & Character Flaws
Upon being cursed, physical traits include a more pallid complexion, increased body hair, sharpened teeth or pointed ears, and a mild allergy to silver and wolfsbane. Behavioural changes may include a preference for raw meat, a natural affinity for animals, discomfort in human-dominated settlements, preference for sleeping under the open sky, and an instinctual urge to hunt.
Lycanthrope Form
Using a bonus action, willingly transform into a lycanthrope form for up to an hour. This wolf-humanoid hybrid form grants:
- Strength becomes 15 if not already higher.
- +10 feet to walking speed.
- Claws (2d4 slashing) or bite (1d8 piercing) as unarmed strikes.
- Resistance to piercing, slashing, and bludgeoning damage.
- Vulnerability to silvered weapons.
- Inability to speak.
- Bite can pass on the curse; successful bite attack forces target to save against your Curse DC or be cursed.
- Ability to transform into a wolf using a bonus action, maintaining all statistics other than AC.
When your HP drops to half or less, make a Wisdom save against your Curse DC or lose control. Each subsequent damage taken triggers another save. Failure increases Curse DC by 1 and success reduces it by 1. When control is lost, you attack the closest creature on each turn. You can repeat the save at the end of each turn to regain control. You can revert to your normal form as a bonus action (if in control). Unconsciousness or death reverts you to normal form unless Curse DC is 20.
