When you choose to attack a creature on your turn, you may choose to make that attack a charge if you used at least 10 feet of movement before attacking it. Upon doing so, you may dedicate an amount of your remaining speed to the charge that is no more than three times how far you actually moved (for instance, if you move 10 feet toward a creature and strike it, you may only dedicate an additional 30 feet to the charge). This indicates how fast your character is charging toward its target. Upon initating a charge, you make your attack roll as normal. On a successful hit, you gain a bonus to the attack’s damage roll equal to the speed dedicated to the charge. If you landed a critical hit with a charge, you also knock the creature prone.
Any movement speed dedicated to a charge must be of the same type of speed that was used in the actual movement toward a creature. All speed dedicated to a charge is used as if the character had used it to move.
