Prerequisite: Sorcerer - Wild Magic
A strange device has burrowed into your chest and encased your heart. A small piece of the device still protrudes from your chest and the surrounding skin looks infected, the infection spreads a little bit everyday. Additionally the device ticks! It's not an audible tick but you can feel it ticking! Inside you! And you are sure the interval between the ticks is getting slightly shorter for each passing day.
The device has two states, Active and Inactive. There is no visual or audible cue for these but you feel it.
You gain the following:
- When the device is active you are a Wild Magic Sorcerer, when it’s inactive you are a regular human.
- Every time you finish a long rest, roll a d20 against DC 11. On a success the device is actived until you take another longrest.
If the device is inactive:
- As an action you can try to cast a spell or a cantrip by expanding one hit dice to try and force the device to activate. Roll a d20 plus the hit dice, DC 11. On a success the device activates, the spell or cantrip is cast, a wild magic effect occurs and you take damage equal to the roll of the hit dice (in the order written). The device will then be active until you take a long rest.
- If the device is inactive and you fall below half HP or take damage when you are below half HP, roll a d20, DC 11. On a success the device activates.
