You've been afflicted with the Beast Plague, a long-running and longer dreaded disease that periodically runs its course through the cursed city of Aramur. While you are afflicted by the Beast Plague, the following effects apply to you:

You have advantage on Perception checks that rely on hearing or smell, and your Strength score increases by 1. Your Intelligence and Charisma scores both decrease by 1, and you have disadvantage on saving throws made to avoid or end the Blinded and Deafened conditions. The Beast Plague remains within you for 2 levels, or until you reach the next tier (whichever comes first). Greater restoration or a healing spell of 5th level or higher instantly rids you of the Beast Plague. If you let the level timer run out, you have 2 choices: You may embrace the Plague, or force it out of you. If you force it out, you are no longer affected by the Beast Plague. If you decide to embrace it, the Beast Plague begins to transform you partially into a monstrous, bloodthirsty beast. This transformation is permanent, and cannot be undone except by a wish spell.

While embracing the Plague, you have the same effects as the normal Plague, but you no longer have disadvantage on Blinded and Deafened saves. Additionally, you grow bestial claws, which replace your unarmed strikes. The bestial claws are considered natural weapons, and are not affected by martial arts. On a hit, the claws do 1d10 slashing damage. You also grow 2d4 inches in height, and your body becomes noticeably more hairy. Your eyes become yellow and canine in appearance, and you occasionally growl like a hungry, rabid beast.
