Bill suffered an onslaught from the Mycanids, being poisoned again and again. What none of them realized is that the mushroom men were trying to make a connection to the heroes, not just fight them. That night, as the poison (or medicine) settled into his system, something changed. When he awoke he could hear whispers from an unknown source. As he drew closer to it, he realized that it was a small mushroom that was speaking. It was saying, “Don’t step on me.” Bill then realized that he could speak with the mushroom. His body had gain a RESISTANCE TO POISONS and also had gained the ability to SPEAK TO MUSHROOMS.
