Prerequisite: 4th level, Pact of the Chain or Pact of the Tome
The Eldritch Enigma feat signifies your Warlock's deepening connection to their eldritch patron and their unrelenting pursuit of arcane knowledge. This feat offers a set of abilities that reflect your character's growth and expertise in the mystic arts:
-
Arcane Familiar: If you have the Pact of the Chain, this feature enhances your familiar's magical abilities. It gains the capability to use its magical energies to protect you from incoming spells. By using its reaction, it can grant you advantage on a saving throw against a spell it can see being cast, providing a potent defense against hostile magic. This ability refreshes after a short rest, highlighting your familiar's increased bond and power.
-
Book of Shadows: For those with the Pact of the Tome, your Book of Shadows evolves into an even more profound source of arcane wisdom. You can add one additional cantrip from any spell list to your Book of Shadows. This added cantrip becomes part of your Warlock spell list, and you can cast it using your Warlock spell slots. This represents your character's continuous dedication to expanding their knowledge of the arcane and their mastery over additional spells.
-
Eldritch Revelation: This aspect of the feat highlights your Warlock's growing understanding of the mystical arts. You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill, reflecting your newfound expertise in arcane lore. Furthermore, your proficiency bonus is doubled for checks made with this skill, showcasing your character's exceptional insight into the arcane. Additionally, you gain the ability to ritually cast Detect Magic without expending a spell slot. This reflects your character's ability to perceive and decipher magical auras and energies.
