Your ability to cast magic comes from your connection to it, and you have managed to forge a connection directly from your soul. This connection confers the following benefits for the following costs:
You may cast magic without using a spell slot at the cost of expending a number of hit die equal to spell slot level being cast, and rolling them for damage you taking for casting using blood magic (i.e. 3rd level spell costs 3 hit die. If you are a wizard those hit die are d6's and such you would take 3d6 damage and expend 3 hit die to cast a 3rd level spell).
You cannot casting using blood magic if you have expended all your hit die or if the spell you are attempting to cast requires more hit die than you possess. You cannot use this feature to cast at a spell level higher than what you can cast at for your level.
