Ichthyic Gift Image

Either a Curse or a blessing, you have been given gifts that allow you to not only survive but thrive underwater.  While maybe not the most aesthetically pleasing alteration to your form, it is none the less a considerable benefit.

Cold Blooded.  You have been adapted to even the most extreme ocean depths, you have resistance to cold damage.

Ichthyic Tongue.  You can communicate simple ideas with beasts that can breathe water. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return.

Aqualung.  Growing gills allows for breathing in water at even extreme depths.

Aquatic Proficiency.  Being underwater does not impede your movement. You gain a swim speed the same as your walking speed and the water does not give disadvantage to any weapon.  Ranged attacks still miss a target if it's beyond the weapon's normal range.

Water Dependency.   If you spend longer than 30 minutes out of water, you begin to suffer the effects of dehydration and asphyxiation, immediately becoming effected by exhaustion. You gain 2 levels of exhaustion for each half hour period you remain outside of your new home. You can only recover from this exhaustion through magic or by immersing yourself in water for a short or long rest.

You're assigned one of the following attributes:

Toughened Scales.  The scales you’ve grown have given you a more impervious hide. You gain +1 to your AC

Speedfin.  Your alteration has allowed you to grow a powerful tailfin. This adds 15 feet to your swim speed.

Feeding Frenzy.  Your teeth grow long and pointed and dangerously sharp. As a bonus action, you can use your teeth to make an unarmed strike. The damage of this bite is 1d6+STR. Any damage done heals you. This can be done an amount of times equal to your proficiency modifier until a short rest.

Blood in the Water.  The smell of blood in the water makes you more deadly. When a creature is at half health, you have advantage on attack rolls.

Tentacular.  A thick suckered tentacle extends from your body. You gain the ability to cast the Lightning Lure cantrip, dealing bludgeoning damage instead of lightning. This can be done an number of times equal to your proficiency modifier until a short rest. You also are able to control this Tentacle, a prehensile limb even allowing the ability to hold a weapon.

Spines.  When threatened, razor sharp spines extend from your body. When you're hit, you can use your reaction to extend those spines to damage your attacker.
