Batlord's Fang Adept Image
Prerequisite: Reaching level 12 Requires a Strength score of 13 or higher

Prerequisite: Character Level 12

Description: You have delved into the dark secrets of the Batlords, gaining some of their fang-focused combat prowess. Your connection to these creatures has permanently increased your physical strength, and you can strike with the precision of a bat's fangs, with this ability improving over time. However, there is a downside to this newfound power. Here are the details of the Batlord's Fang Adept feat:

Fang of Strength:

  • Your physical training and connection to the Batlords have permanently increased your Strength score by 1.

Piercing Fang Strikes:

  • You have learned to channel the biting prowess of a bat into your melee attacks. When you make a melee weapon attack, you can choose to use your Piercing Fang Strikes feature. When you do so, the following effects apply:

    • Piercing Strike: Initially, your attack deals an additional 1d4 piercing damage, reflecting your ability to strike with some precision. However, this damage increases by 1d4  each time you use the Piercing Strike, to a maximum of 4d4. The more you use it the more thirsty for blood and precise your attacks are.
  • You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Strength modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses of this feature after finishing a short or long rest.

Downside:

  • The drawback of this feat is that it becomes increasingly difficult for you to resist the feral instincts of the Batlords in the heat of battle. After each time you use the Piercing Fang Strikes feature during a combat encounter, you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 10 + the number of rounds you've been in combat + the number of times you used the Piercing Fang Strike) to maintain control of your actions. On a failed saving throw, you become frenzied, attacking the nearest creature, friend, or foe, until the end of your next turn. This frenzy is a result of the Blood thirst's influence taking hold, and you cannot choose your targets while frenzied. (The DM takes control of your attacks)
