Prerequisite: Must be taken at 1st level
(This feat should be considered a "Free feat" or a trait, as it has significant drawbacks and should not take up a spot of an exclusively positive feat.)
While growing up, you had a certain knack for learning new things and generally fared better than your peers in most fields. However, you could never quite find your niche - everything you did was just "good", at best.
- Drawbacks:
- You do not normally benefit from proficiency or expertise modifiers to your skills. Your proficiency modifier still applies to saving throws, ability checks, attack rolls, and in any other situation not related to using your skills.
- Benefits:
- Your skill bonuses cannot be lower than 1. In situations where a skill bonus would be below that value, it will automatically be adjusted to 1. This threshold increases at levels 5, 9, 13 and 17 to +2 / +3 / +4 / +6 respectively, and it only applies after all other modifiers have been accounted for.
- You gain a charge of intuition.
- When you use a charge of intuition, you may add your proficiency modifier to any single skill check you make.
- At levels 5, 9, 13 and 17, you receive an additional charge of intuition. The charges replenish after a long rest.
- Additionally:
- For every 4 proficiency modifiers you would normally get, increase the charges of intuition by 1
- For every expertise you would normally get, increase the charges of intuition by 1
