Becoming a Half Dragon
Becoming a Half Dragon requires you to have been given energy from a dragon of adult or ancient age. This energy does not make you into a half or full dragon; however, this energy gives you the power of the dragons.
Transformation Features
A Half Dragon has the following transformation features:
Prerequisites
Ability Scores: Constitution 13
Roleplay Milestones: You must have sworn fealty to a dragon or dragon matriarch gaining the draconic blood and energy of said Dragon.
Level Milestones:
The following are examples of possible level milestones for the Fey:
- Gaining energy from another ally dragon.
- Increasing the size and value of your Horde.
- Absorbing a Dragon's essence of your level or higher (example level one needs wyrmling or older second need youngling or above, and so on and so on).
Transformation Level 1
Starting at 1st level you gain this levels Boons and Flaws.
Transformation Flaw: A Dragon's Horde
The draconic energy being absorbed into you has made you a greedy creature. You now must have a horde of coins and/or magical items. This horde must be have at least 5,000 gold worth of coin or items in your horde. Every month your horde must meet these requirements or you will be pushed to get the amount needed to keep your horde.
Transformation Boon: Draconic Adaptation
The draconic energy imbuing into your body allows short bursts of draconic energy. The energy can be focused into one of three forms for 1 minute as a bonus action:
- You can make draconic wings burst out of your back giving you a 10ft fly speed.
- You gain toughened scales on your arms and torso allowing you as a reaction to resist incoming physical damage.
- You cause scales of elemental affinity to scatter around your body allowing you as a reaction to resist incoming elemental damage
You can use this power once per short/long rest.
Transformation Boon: Draconic Form
Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Charisma by 1. These scores cannot increase those scores over 16.
Transformation Level 2
Starting at 2nd level you can pick one of the following Transformation Boons. You also gain this level's Flaw.
Transformation Flaw: Draconic Appearance
Your appearance has transformed. The draconic energy in you has become to morph and change you form into more draconic gaining scales and a protruding snout. You can suppress this form and present the appearance of the humanoid you once were, but this is taxing and requires concentration. Moments of stress are likely to reveal your true nature. In the following situations your true form will reveal:
- Concentrating on a spell
- Becoming unconscious
- entering hollowed grown
- choosing to reveal yourself
In events of extreme emotional or physical stress a GM may call a Con save with a DC of their choosing to see if you maintain your form. Giants and creatures the DM choose will become hostile to you if they see your true form.
Transformation Boon: Larger Wings
Your body's draconic energy has pushed outward making draconic wings form fully out of your back. These wing do not require concentration to be present and do not require you to wear light armor; however, you must have modifications in your armor for your wings costing and extra fourth of the normal cost. With the draconic wings they allow you to gain a fly speed equal to half your walking speed.
Transformation Boon: Elemental Affinity
The energy of dragons has started to form on your body, this energy has formed into draconic scales of elemental affinity. These scales give you one elemental resistance of your choice, that has a draconic form. These scales do not require any concentration and do not require anything to trigger the damage reduction.
Transformation Boon: Dragon Scales
Scales of draconic strength have started to grow from around your torso and arms. These scales have given you extreme defense giving you a unarmored defense of 13+your Dexterity modifier; along with non-magical physical resistance. These scales are unable to be placed under normal armor of any kind making you unable to wear armor. This defense replaces any over type of unarmored defense.
Transformation Level 3
Starting at 3rd level you can pick one of the following Transformation Boons or a boon from a lower level that you meet the prerequisites for. You also gain this level's Flaw.
Transformation Flaw: Dragon Pride
Your draconic essence has pushed its way into your mind making your ideals, flaws, and bonds. Making them must more potent and active in your personality.
Transformation Boon: Draconic Limbs
Prerequisite: Larger Wings
The wings on your back have grown stronger allowing you gain more freedom of flight; your fly speed is now equal to your walking speed. Along with the wings your arms and legs have started to grow claws and scale covered hands; you gain a climb speed equal to half you walking speed and difficult terrain that is non-magical does not impeded you.
Transformation Boon: Elemental Understanding
Prerequisite: Elemental Affinity
The scales on your body have grown and gained increase magical resistance, these scales repel the magical enhancements of spellcasters; elemental adept and other magical buffs do not ignore your elemental resistance.
As well these new scales give a small amount of you the purity of resistance; as a reaction you can use a reaction to become immune to the draconic element.
This feature can only be used once per short/long rest.
Transformation Boon: Tougher Scales
Prerequisite: Dragon Scales
The toughened scales growing on your torso and arms have become to harden and strengthen giving you stronger armor; your unarmored defense is now AC 18.
Transformation Level 4
Starting at 4th level you can pick one of the following Transformation Boons or a boon from a lower level that you meet the prerequisites for. You also gain this level's Flaw.
Transformation Flaw: The Dragon Mindset
Your mind has started to become more of your draconic bloodline. Your horde size has now increase in need of size to 15,000 gold. With this you gain a prideful flaw you or the DM must roll on the indefinite madness table and you gain this flaw and it is uncurbable. With these new minds sets your energy of dragons has allowed you to feel the presence of Giant kin with a mile of your person. When this happens you must succeed a Wisdom Saving throw of 18 or feel uncontrollably aggressive toward them.
Transformation Boon: Dragon Body
Prerequisite: Draconic Limbs
Your claws and arms have grown in strength, your climbing speed has now grown to match your normal movement speed and you have gained a swim/burrow speed equal to half your walking speed. Along with this any and all difficult terrain does not impede you.
Transformation Boon: True Element Affinity
Prerequisite: Elemental Understanding
Your elemental scales have gained increase toughness and durability gaining full immunity to your draconic element(except the power of Ancient and Greatwyrm dragons).
Along with this your scales have imbued itself into your body allowing you to heal yourself from the damage you take. As a reaction you can heal for half the damage you take from your draconic element.
This feature can only be used once per short/long rest.
Transformation Boon: Armored Scales
Prerequisite: Tougher Scales
The toughened scales around your torso and arms has moved down your body allowing it to cover your legs leaving only your head, feet, and hand open. These scales are now strong enough to allow your own body to strengthen the scales; your unarmored AC is 14 plus your Dexterity and plus your Constitution modifier.
These scales have gained a strength of your helpers making you immune to non-magical psychical damage.
