Draconic Familiar

By selecting the Dragon Familiar feat, you gain a wyrmling dragon as a familiar. Your alignment must be one of the acceptable alignments indicated for the dragon kind. You gain +1 to perception and AC along with a host of abilites.

Share Spell: When you cast a spell targeting yourself, you can also affect your beast companion with the spell if the dragon is within 30 ft. of you.

Empathic Link: The Master has an empathic link with their familiar out to a distance of up to 1 mile. The Master can see through the familiar’s eyes and they can communicate empathically. Because of the limited nature of the link, only general emotional content can be communicated. When using a familiar's senses as your own it replaces your own senses. IE: You can't see out of your own eyes when using your familiars.

Deliver Touch Spells: When you cast a spell with a range of touch, your familiar can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your familiar must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it.

Scry on Familiar: You may scry on your familiar (as if casting the spell scrying) once per day.

Draconic Stats: Your companion shares its level with it's master. Your companion has a Hit Die count equal to its master and proficiency equal to its master.

Dragon Rider Link: You are psychically linked to your dragon. You can communicate silently with each other and can't be intercepted. The downside of this is any mental effects or psychic damage taken are shared between Master and Familiar. This requires the Familiar to take up an attunement slot.

Note that although your messages are transmitted in common your dragon's thoughts are more primal. Your dragon will transmit their thoughts in the form of emotions, feelings, and single words.

At level 5, your bond with your dragon had given you draconic senses. You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) check that use sight, smell, and/or hearing. Enemies have a disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks if they can be detected by sight, smell, and/or hearing.

Draconic Magic: You can teach your dragon spells from the wizard spell list. Use the Wizard spell slot allotment for your level to determine your dragon's spell slot.

Draconic Skills: You can teach your dragon a variety of skills.

Draconic Temperment: 

Metalic: Metallic Dragons love people and cooperating with them. Metalic partners enjoy following orders and working to aid their partners and allies. Their almost domestic disposition makes them a common choice.

Crystal: Aloof and stubborn Crystal Dragons happily serve their partners and very few beyond that. While a well trained one will follow orders their stubbornness might warrant a few repeats. 

Chromatic: Feral and wild these dragons value strength. While they will serve a rider who's earned their respect they are very reward motivated and will rarely act without seeing a gain for them or a promise of praise. Beware their egos.

Diet: Dragons are omnivores with a preference for meat. Due to its mass your dragon will need to eat the equivalent of a medium humanoid's diet.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + STR+PROF) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) [Element] damage.

[Element] Breath ([Proficiency] per long rest). The dragon exhales fire in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 8+DEX+PROF Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level.
