You gain the following benefits:
- Increase your Dexterity or Intelligence score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
- You have proficiency with tinker's tools.
- Using tinker's tools, you can construct a clockwork device as part of a short or long rest. You may have a number of clockwork devices equal to your proficiency bonus active at a time. The device has an Armor Class of 5 and a number of hit points equal to 1 + your Intelligence modifier (minimum 1 hp). You may use an action to dismantle a clockwork device and reclaim the materials used to create it.
The power of creation used to construct a clockwork device can be sensed with the detect magic or identify spell, otherwise the effects of the device aren’t considered magical. When you create a clockwork device, choose one of the following options:
Calculator. At the discretion of your dungeon master, a character using this Tiny device may spend an action to calculate a distance, area, volume, mass, time, probability of success, or any other value deemed appropriate.
Clockwork Toy. This Tiny clockwork device emulates an animal, monster, or person, such as a frog, mouse, bird, dragon, or soldier. A clockwork toy takes 1 minute to windup and requires an action to either activate or deactivate the device. Once activated, a clockwork toy will move forward 5 feet to an unoccupied space across a solid surface. The toy will continue moving forward 5 feet every turn for 1 minute or until deactivated. If the space in front of the toy is occupied, the toy will randomly turn 90 degrees until it can continue to move forward. On each turn the toy is active, it will make a noise appropriate to the creature it represents.
Fire Starter. This Tiny device produces a miniature flame, which can be used to light a candle, torch, or campfire. A fire starter requires an action to use, and its effect is instantaneous.
Lifter. This Medium device is used to lift and position heavy crates or other cumbersome objects. The lifter has a maximum capacity of 1000 lbs. and can raise an object a maximum of 5 feet. Pushing or dragging a lifter (whether empty or loaded) does not count against your total carrying capacity. Pushing or dragging a lifter on anything but a flat horizontal surface counts as difficult terrain. Pushing or dragging a lifter requires an action each turn it is used.
Motion Detector. This Tiny device senses when a creature or construct moves to within a 30-foot cone radiating from the device. After a creature or construct moves into range, the motion detector will sound an audible alarm that can be heard from up to 100 feet away and lasts for 1 minute . A motion detector takes 1 minute to windup and remains functional until dismissed. Once triggered, the alarm lasts for 1 minute or until dismissed.
Music Box. When opened, this Tiny device plays a single song at a moderate volume. A music box takes 1 minute to windup, an action to open or close, and stops playing if it is closed or reaches its song's end.
Timepiece. This Tiny device keeps accurate time and has an alarm. A timepiece takes 1 minute to windup and lasts for 24 hours. The alarm can be either silent or audible and requires an action to set or dismiss it. Once triggered, the alarm lasts for 1 minute or until dismissed.
Weather Sensor. This Tiny device accurately predicts weather conditions within a 1-mile radius. Every hour this device is active, it will show a symbol or combination of symbols like the sun, moon, clouds, rain, snow, or any other meteorological symbols deemed appropriate by the dungeon master. A weather sensor takes 1 minute to windup and requires an action to either activate or deactivate the device. Once active, the sensor lasts for 4 hours or until deactivated.
